OK I'm bored, and once you get past the privacy concerns all reports of windows 10 are good. I have the day off work so I'm doing it.

There are heaps of guides on how to disable all the privacy options, most can be done during setup.

I just downloader the installer via the media creation tool from Microsoft and created the usb flash drive.

Here goes.

Ok and I'm back... installation straight through, kept all programs and settings, everything seems good thus far.

Make sure when you do the upgrade do NOT use express settings, select customize and then turn off all the privacy and sharing microsoft options otherwise you'll have to do it later in windows.

boot times and windows response is very good.

All i've done is install the latest windows 10 nvidia drivers so far. People on overclockers forums say that's all they did and straight into games.

Ok testing commencing and will play around for the coming weeks, going to put it on my laptop now too so I can continue to play around at work.

I like it so far. The start menu is a nice compromise between what us consumers want and what Microsoft want us to use.

Yep been playing around with it all yesterday (ended up having a site down at work so using it all day for work) and no issues at all thus far except:

I don't like how you can't choose what windows updates you get. It is automatic only... looking for a workaround now.

Only a couple of apps weren't working properly with windows 8 versions such as razer synapse, updated to latest version and all good now.

I have to learn where everything is anyway as no doubt monday I'll have heaps of doctors and practices upgraded to windows 10 (because they like the lastest) and now things have changed a bit with where things are located.. although if you type in search bar the old name it comes straight up anyways e.g. "programs and features".

Ok - some issues - firstly BF4 - punkbuster kicked me all the time - reinstalled and it did not work - ran it in the BF4 directory and that fixed it.

Then if you using Outlook it will not send - receives fine, checked online and it is a common fault with the upgrade and very easy fix. close outlook open command prompt as an admin and run scannow /sfc. this fixed it first time.

hopefully no more to come.

i won't upgrade from Win 7 Pro 64bit until i absolutely have to at this point.

You guys can be Microsofts lab rats.....

ps: Let's hope that the major Dental/Medical softwares used are supported in a Windows 10 environment otherwise some doctors won't be too happy to see their shit not work if they push the upgrade through themselves.
